Why this site is needed
Basically, there is little or no unbiased information comparing hair removal lasers and laser doctors/clinics. This site aims to provide that information.
When hair removal lasers first hit the market some ten years ago, there was a high demand for a new hair removal technology. This demand led to accelerated FDA approval of several lasers, clearing them to be marketed for "permanent hair reduction".
Yet in the rush to get these revolutionary products to market, few if any comprehensive studies were done comparing the effectiveness of the various approved lasers.
No comprehensive, authoritative study exists comparing the effectiveness of the major models and classes of hair removal lasers currently in use.
Given this lack of information, how are you to choose which laser to use?
Doctors and clinics have been forced to choose their equipment based on available information. But in all honesty, once anyone has invested 70,000 - $125,000 or more in a laser device, its is only natural that they would want to promote that laser's virtues.
Thus, it is hard to know what to think when doctor and clinic websites promote different and even contrasting points of view on the effectiveness of various lasers.
